Bio
Character Information

Kobato Hanato

Name: Kobato Hanato

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Canon: Kobato

Version: Just after the bazaar held at the school.

Universe: OU

Appearance:
Kobato's hair color is a fusion of orange, auburn, and blond, if even possible. She has orange eyes that resemble the flames from a fireplace, and is a tiny bit tall for a girl her age. She has a slim build, and long hair. Although the clothing she wears is not similar in any specific way, she is ALWAYS wearing something to cover her head, or at least, she is in public. The reason for this is unexplainable at the time (due to the fact that the reason hasn't been released in the manga). Kobato is almost always smiling, even when her ideas are rejected. She quickly hides her frown. She doesn't have any specific identification marks except that she is almost always carrying a stuffed dog named Ioryogi.

Personality:
Kobato is a strange girl that is inexplicably kind to others, whether they are good or not. She is always determined to complete tasks, however diffiicult, just to remove the suffering from a person's heart. She is vulnerable to betrayal and tricks for she is extremely gullible. She is also always trying to make friends with everyone she meets.

Although awkward, Kobato tends attempt to strike a conversation with any random person she meets, although this usually ends in failure. But on the other hand, when she sees a random person suffering, she attempts to do everything in her ability to help them. (For example, when a man tries to buy a cake for his family on Christmas, but the store closes, Kobato gives up the one she has to ease his suffering.)

Kobato also tends to be a bit clumsy when she is running. She tends to trip frequently. Strangely, this never happens when she is in the middle of completing a task. (For example, when she volunteers to be a waitress at a restaurant needing help, she is able to run back and forth with cups of drinks and food, and never trips. In addition, when she is carrying futons for the schoolchildren to wash them, she never falls or drops them.) Overall, she is clumsy when idle, but is careful and cheerful at the same time when she has her mind set on completing a task.

Strengths/Abilities:
Kobato is a healer of sorts, in physical, mental, and personal issues. She has the ability to heal the wounds of injury, personal disputes between others, and mental issues. She also strives her hardest to complete whatever task she is given however difficult or simple. She also follows instructions to their fullest, even though this is sometimes a bad trait (such as when a sign in a garbage bin reads to "throw as little possible away." She ends up throwing very little trash away, and gives the rest to animals as food.) She also knows how to complete tasks very quickly, and does surprisingly well when she is taught properly how to do things on her first try.

Weaknesses:
Kobato is extremely vulnerable to betrayers and tricks. She is very gullible and believes practically everything that is said, as long as there is no contradiction with another fact she already knows. Also, Kobato cannot remove the item that she is wearing on her head. The reason for this is unspeakable at the moment (because it hasn't been released in the actual manga =_=). She tends to trip whenever she attempts to run, and almost always fails at a task if not taught properly.

History:
Kobato has an unknown past at the moment, but as of recent events, she has been trying to fill a bottle with the suffering of others hearts. This is not only to make them happy, but if she fills the bottle completely to the rim, she will be able to travel to a place she has always wanted to go. (The place that she wishes to go to is not yet revealed in the manga).

To be able to fill the bottle with the suffering of others' hearts, she meets with Ioryogi, a stuffed dog that actually is alive. He gives her a test of common sense to see if she can survive in the real world. After committing acts of kindness for many people, she eventually passes the test, earning the bottle she must fill. She then moves into an apartment and starts working at a local school for young children as both a teacher and a supervisor.

Unfortunately, the owner of the school is under serious debt from her ex-husband, a member of the yakuza. To make up money to prevent the school from closing, she holds a bazaar and sells items retrieved from the parents' of the students attending the school. They make enough money to pay the debts AND to buy new merchandise for the school.

RP Sample:
Walking down a crowded road on a busy Christmas Eve, Kobato noticed a store nearby. Normally, she may not have thought and continued walking, but she sensed...suffering. Walking closer, she noticed that it was a pastry shop. Stepping closer to the man outside selling cakes, she asked "Is there any way I can help?" with a happy cheerful smile on her face. The man looked at her, and heaved out a sigh of relief.
"Could you sell these cakes for me? I need to make more inside." he replied.
"Sure thing!" Kobato replied happily.

Business was uncontrollable. There were hundreds of people that bought cakes, but Kobato served each and every one of them, maintaining her copyright smile. After many hours, at midnight, the shop finally closed.
"I'm really thankful for your help." the owner of the store told her. "Why'd you end up helping me in the first place?" he asked.
"Well, I sensed suffering in your heart." she answered bluntly. "I wanted to help you get rid of it."
The man looked at her strangely, but then smiled once again.
"Well, take this then." he told her as he handed her a box.
"What's this?" she asked.
"It's a cake. Take it as a sign of my appreciation."
"But I couldn't..." she started, but when she looked at the somewhat stern expression on the man's face, she stopped. Putting on a big smile, she told him "Thank you very much!"

As Kobato was walking towards her apartment, she noticed another man who seemed to be suffering as well. Walking closer to him, she noticed that he was mumbling about something.
"Is there something wrong?" Kobato asked him.
"Yes, there is." the man replied. "I was supposed to get my family a cake for Christmas, but all of the stores are closed. What am I going to do..." he groaned.
Kaboto, looking at the box in her hand, passed it over to the suffering man.
"What's this?" he asked.
"A cake. Take it for your family." Kobato replied, smiling. The man, who had an expression of shock on his face, replied with a unique enthusiasm.
"Thank you so much! You just saved me!"
Kobato smiled. "It was nothing." she replied.
The man walked off, humming a gleeful tune. Kobato smiled, and continued walking in the cool night breeze.

Journal Sample:
There were so many suffering people today. I didn't know that there was so much unhappiness in the world. I helped them, and it was great to see the smile on their faces. I hope that they'll remain happy. But, there was one boy who cheered up very strangely. One of the school boys, actually. I saw him alone, on the swing set, so I walked over to him. He told me that his mother was never there for him, because she was constantly working. Then he asked me if she was a bad mother. All I had said was that his mother "is not bad, but perhaps better than many others, because she works hard for you." All of a sudden, he hugged me. I'm not sure if I healed him of any suffering, but he seemed to have cheered up.
